Do I need to sign up?
You can start a voice or text chat as a guest. An account is needed for features such as friend requests and inbox conversations.
Why am I waiting for a match?
Someone else needs to be waiting in the same mode. Voice and text have separate queues. Keep this tab open, or try the other mode. Wait times depend on who is available.
What if my microphone does not work?
Allow microphone access in your browser, or choose text chat. Text needs no microphone or camera. If sound is blocked during a voice call, use Enable sound.
Can I talk without showing my face?
Yes. There is no camera in the voice or text chat. Share only what you are comfortable sharing.
Can I find someone again?
During a connected chat, use Add friend. You will be asked to create an account if you are a guest. The other person decides whether to accept.
Who can use this site?
Talk to Strangers is for adults aged 18 and over. Read the terms and safety guidance before starting.
